Katie White has been painting, drawing, and sketching since she was a young girl. She was initially inspired and taught how to paint by her grandmother, Betty Jones, an accomplished landscape artist shown in galleries in Jacksonville, FL.
After Betty passed away in October 2014, Katie became serious about honoring her grandmother and began pursing a career as an artist - her dream. Katie began art classes to learn the fundamentals of art composition, color spectrum, etc. while continuing to use the nuances of landscape art her grandmother instilled in her early on.
While Katie appreciates the beauty in all forms of art, she is passionate about abstract mixed media art. She often uses charcoal, chalk pastels, and metals layered with acrylic paint. Her color palettes tend to fall around soothing neutral schemes that are pleasing to look at and live with.
Katie lives in Atlanta with her husband, daughter, twin boys, and dog Jax.
